I'm an extrovert and I love working with all kinds of people. I have a smile, I've got glasses and I love dogs, oh yes and I'm a writer. I've always been a big fan of fun, especially when people feel like they're learning something—and that's what drives me.
I'm a sports junkie!
No, really. I LOVE sports. Baseball (Go Yankees), Football (LV Raiders and Washington Redskins...no wait Commanders), and college basketball. When other females might marathon Sex in the City, I'll sit for hours watching sports!
I think the thing that gets me so excited about sports, it's so easy to understand. You've got two teams and one winner—it's pretty straightforward. And yet when you watch it, there's always something up for grabs. You never know what could happen next.
Want to know more? Then strap in because we are going on a ride!
I'm Sandi Flockhart, and I took to the road to discover America in an RV after I "retired". I winter in Las Vegas and release the parking brake to see where the road takes me the rest of the year.
Born & raised in Fresno, CA, I graduated from California State University at Fresno with a BS in Criminology. (Yes, the same Fresno State that boasts fellow alumni; NYY Aaron Judge, Las Vegas Raider QB Derek Carr, and WR Devante Adams!) At Fresno State, I became a trailblazer. - being selected to be part of a pilot program for the Department of Interior to see how a female would work as a law enforcement ranger in Yosemite National Park. Might sound silly today but back in the 1970s, there were few women in law enforcement. It was a success!
Goodbye, California - Hello Washington, D.C.!
My wheelhouse ranges from Ranger - to Police Officer - to REALTOR® - to National Speaker - to Adjunct Professor - to Writer. All different and distinct skills, that when combined with wisdom, and life experiences equal adventurous sources of content.
I'm known for my friendly smile, funny glasses, and sharp wit, and follow my Grandma's advice: "Be like a snowflake - leave a memory - not a stain. When you're a stain, you just leave a mess."
The Police Officer
Nixon and Watergate, Vietnam protesters, Women's Rights, The Reagan Years - D.C. - the Murder Capital of the World, I can say I was a part of it all!
Primarily, my main responsibility was street patrol but I was also assigned to Presidential Protection, FBI Liaison, SWATT, and Criminal Investigations. And yes, I did tell people to "assume the position"!
An interesting benefit of the job was meeting World leaders (some impressive, some not so much) and Hollywood's notables. John Wayne and Jimmy Stewart were two of my favorites.
The time came for me to retire from my first "real career" preparing for another adventure.
The Fur Mom
His name is Bernie. He was a homeless Las Vegas street puppy until he was found and taken to a No-Kill Shelter. My kids say he gets more than they did when they were growing up - Well Ya!!'
Don't shop - ADOPT!
Besides Bernie, I am the proud mother of two children and four grandchildren - all on the East Coast. My eldest grandson just retired from the US Army. It's a good thing I love to travel (remember the RV?) because family is very important!
Travel is my stress reliever - on land and sea. I took up crocheting after being diagnosed with Kidney Cancer in 2020, and Bernie has some great sweaters to prove it!
I'm a foodie at heart and have never met a Mexican dish I've never enjoyed. Except for Escamoles - I'll pass!! I bake like a reincarnated Julia Childs - you should taste my Quiche and Cheese Cake!
And magic...OMG, you make a tiger disappear - I'm yours!
I've never met a stranger, and I can honestly say that I wake up every morning (like at 4 am) with a smile on my face and ready to greet the day.
I've added another arrow to my quiver - Author!
Suite Justice, ink still wet, unfurls its pages. Legal mysteries dance with shadows, and the edge of a gavel tiptoes toward truth. Maxwell Sterling, our intrepid attorney, wields his pen like a rapier. His quest? Not just acquittals, but redemption.
Two more manuscripts simmer in the cauldron of imagination. One—a Romantic Comedy where love outshines Las Vegas' neon lights. The other—a semi-memoir, a personal gobsmacked occurrence etched in ink.
Life's too short not to enjoy it!
The REALTOR®
Incredible Customer Service made me a successful REALTOR®. After leaving law enforcement I became licensed in Virginia, Maryland, and West Virginia.
I found that I LOVED working with buyers, I became an ABR® (Accredited Buyer Representative), GREEN certified, and CNS (Certified Neighborhood Specialist).
Because I led my clients to happy, successful closings, I quickly became a Top Producer and was recognized by Coldwell Banker as 2013 & 2015 International Sterling Society, and 2016 International Diamond Society.
I served in numerous positions on the Board of REALTORS® until my 'retirement' in 2017
